Jordan Century – A Little Bit Of Southern Charm

BY: Patrick Gibney

Thirty-three-year-old, Jordan Centry, has always had a deep love of comedy – from his childhood years in Stoneville, NC to his time at UNC Chapel Hill, where he completed a master’s degree. However, it wasn’t until January 2017 that he first walked into a comedy club open mic in Winston Salem, NC. “I was just trying to get out of my comfort zone and challenge myself,” said Centry during a recent telephone interview. “And I knew that finally getting up on a comedy stage would do that for me, and it did. I was immediately hooked.” His online profile describes his comedy work as “approaching everyday experiences with intelligence and a touch of charming southerness.”

He has graced the stage in many of the big comedy clubs around the state, including Goodnights in Raleigh, The Comedy Zone in Charlotte, and The Idiot Box in Greensboro. He has also played several North Carolina comedy festivals before becoming a fan favorite in Charlotte. In 2022, he was voted “Charlotte’s Best Comedian” by the readers of QC Nerve Magazine. His career path has led to coveted opening spots for comedians such as Rodney Perry, Tanyalee Davis, and Michael Palascak.

He first graced our comedy stage back in December 2022, and he’s happy to be coming back. “I love what you guys are doing in Fayetteville for comedy, and I’m excited to be coming back to Paddy’s and The Church Comedy Club. It’s going to be an awesome show.”
