They Call Him El Papi
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Is it a Colombian Drug Lord? Is it a Porn Star? No! It’s Gabriel Perea playing one of his most captivating and compelling characters, DJ El Papi. Women moisten and men harden in his presence. Young people love him. Old people love him. Lesbians love him. Gays love him. Bisexuals love him. Even Trisexuals** love him.
Originally from New York, El Papi is of Colombian descent – which explains all the hair. He has been a DJ for over 10 years, having played clubs in NY, TX, GA, and NC. He is also a piano player with over 20 years’ experience, and a music producer with several credits. On top of that, he is an ordained minister, a character he calls El Pastore. So, El Pastore can take care of the wedding ceremony while El Papi takes care of the reception. They’re like a tag team.
El Papi is known as a true open format DJ, meaning he plays all genres of music in any given set, putting an international twist on things by incorporating styles and sounds from across the globe. On a personal note, there have been times in my life when I wished I was gay. Writing this story on DJ El Papi is one of those times.
